Upcoming Artist Residency in MI

A beautiful historic inn, a great lake, a peaceful pond; we loved visiting Lakeside Inn in Michigan many years before the art studio was revived. The studio, windows peering out to the pond, left me beyond inspired. Back in 2023 I participated in a summer working residency, and I’m not sure if words describe the inspiration that can be felt there on any given day of the year. No matter the weather there is a pocket that is perfection itself, be it the covered porch, in front of a fireplace, on the beach itself, eating lunch by the pond listening to natures songs. There is limitation in a outside studio, but there is also freedom, your tools you brought along are limited, but your projects can change and morph, they need not stay what you intended, beauty blossoms in the new environment challenging you to stand up and look at something differently or shape it in an entirely new way. I can’t wait to show you the magic that Lakeside Inn has to offer.

Summer residency has an artist work exchange program, which is a great way to alleviate costs for fresher fishes in the art world.
